Hastie Group Ltd’s Middle East operations says he has had to flee the United
Arab Emirates over fears he will be arrested due to company cheques that
bounced, according to The Australian.
Gavin Appleby said he and former human resources manager
Gary Allen have had to flee because it is a criminal offence in the UAE to
bounce cheques. One cheque has already bounced, and another is expected to
bounce, worth a total of over $700,000.
